Over 14 great years, Hope MK has been an amazing project that has impacted and encouraged so many young people, including the adults who have attended and have volunteered. Communities across Milton Keynes have benefited greatly from these projects.  However, over the last three years, we have found it challenging for this event to develop, with declining numbers of churches and volunteers, making it difficult to run a four-day project as before.

The core team and Bridgebuilder Trust (who have overseen and underwritten the event) feel that there is still a place for a citywide youth event but are open to what the format might look like in the future.   To keep as many young people as possible engaged in the event, and to ensure the most effective youth event and best use of funds and resources, we knew the event needed to change this season.  Hope MK has needed to be reshaped to keep it alive, so we now have our three annual evening meetings called UNITE. These evenings are for the young people to come together, make friends and worship God. This year, as a team, we felt Hope MK needed a fresh start and revised values. After much prayer and consideration. We decided to rename Hope MK to UNITE, and the annual event of the same name would be called the BIG UNITE.

Unite evenings are now in its fourth year. Each year, the number of young people and church attendance for this event has increased. In our BIG UNITE event in October, we now have missional activities as part of the program. With more interest, more young people, and more volunteers, the BIG UNITE will grow and run longer.

 We believe God is in control and will lead and guide us as UNITE is shaped.  Watch this space!
